Mongolian train seat classes
Passenger trains have four classes of seat:
- Deluxe soft sleeper
- Compartment coach
- Soft sleeper coach
- Sitting coach
Deluxe soft sleeper
In the deluxe soft sleeper, there are 2 berths in a private compartment, with a lockable door. A western-style toilet and washbasin are available at the end of the carriage. Tea, coffee, and hot water are all provided. Deluxe soft sleepers are only available on a few trains such as Ulaanbaatar-Zamiin uud-Ulaanbaatar.
- Compartment coach
There are 4 berths /two lowers and two uppers/ in a compartment coach, with two on each side, each supplied pillow, blanket, and a private reading light. The cabin does have a door and the door can be locked from the inside. A western-style toilet and washbasin are available at the end of the carriage.
- Soft sleeper coach
4 passengers share a cabin, and 4 berths are placed in a cabin, two lowers and two uppers. The cabin does not have a door. One carriage has only one toilet in the end of each carriage. A pillow, sheet, and blanket are provided for each berth.
- Sitting coach
Hard seat is the cheapest among all classes. 6 passengers share a cabin, and 4 births are placed in a cabin, two lowers and two uppers. The cabin does not have a door. One carriage has only one toilet at the end of each carriage.
