What is Mongolian currency ?
The official currency of Mongolia is the Mongolian togrog (ISO code: MNT and symbol “₮” ), also spelled as tugrik. The currency has been in circulation since 1925 and is issued by the Bank of Mongolia. The coins are not available.
Bank note’s feature
The banknotes of Mongolia feature historical figures, landmarks, and wildlife of the country and Mongolian hero’s including Chinggis khaan and Sukhbaatar. The front of each note is written in the Mongolian Cyrillic script, while the back is written in Mongolian script with the denomination in numerals.
Are foreign currencies like US dollars acceptable in Mongolia ?
